Situation

The Crisis Response Center received an SOS from a device located on the Silver Dollar Lake trail in Dillion, CO.
The client indicated a woman had fallen and fractured her ankle and was going into shock.

Response

Through SMS the team member gave advice on how to stabilize the patient until rescue crews arrived.
The Operations team contacted the Clear Creek Sheriffs Office in Colorado and provided them the details and a live tracking link.
Units were rapidly dispatched to the scene.

Conclusion

The CRC was informed a few hours later that the patient was rescued and transported to a medical facility.

Situation

The Crisis Response Center received an SOS from a device.
After attempting to reach the client with no success they spoke with the emergency contact who stated that her husband and 3 others were on a vessel in the Gulf of Mexico. She was concerned and unable to establish contact with anyone onboard.

Response

The team quickly took down all information on the individual, the vessel and using the coordinates they were able to relay this to the Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard quickly dispatched teams and called back with an update.

Conclusion

The vessel, and all people onboard were safely back on shore.
They had initiated the SOS during the impending storm and escalating weather conditions.

Situation

The Crisis Response Center received an SOS alert near Tom Price in Western Australia.
They were unable to contact the client or their emergency contacts.
A message was received stating a 20 year old male was injured with a dislocated shoulder and was stuck in a gorge.

Response

The Operations team provided all details including a live tracking link to the Joint Rescue Coordination Center Australia.
It was then actioned by the West Australia Police Department to respond and aid as their resources were closest.

Conclusion

It was later reported that the group and injured party were transported to the nearest hospital for treatment.

Situation

The Crisis Response Center received a Satellite call from a device user in distress located on a back road of Route-Du-Nord north of Chibougamau, Quebec, Canada.
The caller explained their vehicle had gone off the road and was stuck in a ditch.

Response

Operations team escalated the case and relayed the information to the Sûreté du Québec.
They were provided with the most recent geocoordinates and contact information of the client.
Officers were dispatched to the scene.

Conclusion

They were found and no injuries were reported.

Situation

The Crisis Response Center received an SOS from a 27-year-old woman in the mountains near Snowmass Lake, CO. She had fallen 400 ft down a scree- and snow-covered slope suffering a head and leg fracture.

Response

The Operations team contacted the Pitkin County emergency dispatch who notified Mountain Rescue Aspen. Search and rescue were sent out on foot and by CareFlight helicopter to Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness area where they found her and the bystanders.

Conclusion

Within 4 hours she was airlifted to Aspen Valley Hospital and received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries to her right leg and head. She was discharged from the hospital the next day.

Situation

The CRC received an SOS from a user device located in the forest of Osasco, Brazil.
The client was reached via cell phone and said he’d been in a car accident and now stuck in a tree 20 meters up from the ground with a broken arm.

Response

We informed his contacts as he requested and coordinated rescue with the local fire brigade.
They successfully rescued the client and treated him for his injury.

Conclusion

The client called letting us know how thankful he was for our rapid response and for getting him out of the tree safely.

Situation

The Crisis Response Center received an SOS from a device located in Upstate New York.
Unable to reach the client, communication was made with the emergency contact. They were informed there were 2 adults and 4 children on a hike missing.

Response

The Operations team escalated the case to Conewango Swamp Wildlife Management who contacted counselors from the camp.
All known information as well as a live tracking link was given.
Rangers were dispatched to the geocoordinates.

Conclusion

The group was found 2 hours later
Rangers reported no injuries and were escorted out of the woods to the camp.
Crisis Response Center were informed to stand down and thanked for their assistance.

Situation

The Crisis Response Center received an SOS from a device located in the Alps of Italy.
They were unable to contact the client, however, spoke to the emergency contact who stated her daughter had gone for a hike and become lost and pinned down in a bad storm.

Response

The Operations team contacted local mountain search and rescue and provided them with the information and a live tracking link.

Conclusion

An hour later the Crisis Response Center was informed by dispatch both girls had been located and rescued without any issues and brought to a safe location.

Situation

The Crisis Response Center received an SOS alert from a device located in west of the Wunaamin Conservation Park in Western Australia.
Operations team contacted the client and was informed the motor home was on fire and requested immediate assistance.

Response

Information was then delegated to the Joint Rescue Coordination Center in Australia to aid.
They coordinated with the authorities at the Halls Creek Fire department.

Conclusion

Operation center contacted the Center Australia later for updates and case was considered resolved
Everyone was safely evacuated without injuries.

Situation

The Crisis Response Center received an SOS pinging from New South Wales, Australia.

Response

The device user could not get contacted for details of the emergency.
Operations team escalated the case to the Joint Rescue Coordination Center and sent the live tracking link.
A rescue helicopter was dispatched to the geo-coordinates but was unable to land.
Ground rescue teams were sent at first light.

Conclusion

Search and rescue found the couple and took them to Sydney hospital for hypothermia.
