Anthony’s day-to-day responsibilities are diverse and dynamic. "We handle medical cases where we have to repatriate certain patients either back to their home or to different countries," he explains. This involves intricate planning and coordination, ensuring that patients are transported safely and efficiently. He also plays a vital role in dispatching for Globalstar devices, including SPOT, responding to SOS signals from remote locations in Canada and Alaska.

Coordinating Emergency Assistance and Rescue

Anthony’s work often involves collaborating with local authorities, such as police, sheriff’s departments, and park rangers, to facilitate timely and effective rescues. Whether adventurers are stranded in the mountains or have suffered injuries requiring evacuation, Anthony and his team are the unseen heroes orchestrating their rescue.

The nature of emergencies that Anthony deals with can vary widely. He recounts assisting customers during the recent breakout of violence in Israel, in which many families required urgent evacuation. His team’s response involved coordinating flights and ensuring additional security measures were available. Anthony’s military background as a combat medic in the National Guard has been instrumental in his role in the CRC. "The attention to detail is really what I learned through my military experience," he notes, emphasizing the importance of meticulous planning and execution in emergency response.

An avid runner and former personal trainer, Anthony’s dedication to physical fitness and personal development transcend into his professional life. His commitment to pushing his limits, as seen in his participation in marathons and fundraising for charitable causes, mirrors the drive and dedication required in his demanding role within Overwatch x Rescue.

“I've always kept up with my training,” he states, “whether it's running, focusing on strength training, or just running after my six-year-old daughter.”

In January 2023, Anthony ran in the Miami Marathon to raise money for Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, a local hospital in the city.

“For me, that was just kind of like a test, like, ‘Alright. I've been running for this long. I just wanna like take it to the next level and see how I how I can perform.’ And then, I also had a bit of an incentive as well because I was actively engaged with a campaign to gather donations to help Nicklaus Children's Hospital with their medical treatments… When I looked them up and then saw all the things that they were doing, I was like, ‘Wow, we need to reach out to them and see how I can help and create this incentive for me to continue pushing myself and training as well as supporting a good cause.’…So, like I said, it was a really awesome experience for me, not just running the marathon, but also being able to collect all those donations…”

He managed to raise over $1,200 for the hospital, which was primarily donated by his colleagues from Overwatch x Rescue as well as by his friends and family.

“One of the key pillars I learned through my experience is working as a team and accountability,” he states. “Everything that we do is dependent on how well the CRC team operates and can disseminate information as we manage crisis events. If everyone does their job right, then we can expect the mission will turn out successful, just like in the military.”
